Founded in early 2002, Laaboratorio DAGAD is a
documentation and study centre of Architecture and Design, located in
the cultural complex of "La Fabbrica del Vapore" in Milan.
|

Objective |
|
The main objectives of Laboratorio DAGAD are:
-
to collect and document the architects and designer's activity,
the young architects' one in particular.
-
to promote research projects;
-
to develop training and divulgation initiatives through cultural
events, courses, workshops, exhibitions, publications and video.
Universities,
researchers, publishers, designers, fairs, real estate agents and
general public are the users of this centre.

Foundation |
|
With
the project of this initiative, Laboratorio DAGAD was selected after a competition organized by the Council House of Milan for “La
Fabbrica del Vapore” , the former Carminati Toselli factory in via Procaccini. This complex
was transformed in a centre of
cultural and artistic production, characterized by good quality and
high resonance initiatives, in a context enriched with spectacle
and expositional spaces,
restaurants, libraries, bookshops.
The Milanese architect Paolo
Righetti.is the founder and president of Laboratorio DAGAD.

Activities |
|
Among DAGAD's
most important activities of the last few years:
-promoting and
organising workshops, courses, visits, conferences either at the
headquarter and at some other famous location such as the
"Triennale" of Milan, the "Fondazione dell'ordine degli
architetti di Milano" and the "Biennale di
architettura"" of Venice.

periodical start ups for young architects and designer hosted at our
headquarter.
-
study, research and stage programmes through standing cooperation with
the "Politecnico di Milano" and "Università
Cattolica"
-
census of over 500 Italian and international planning offices, selected
for their quality and their attitude towards research.
-
emeroteque for students with the most important architecture and design
magazines.
-
visits to important cities and events of Italian and European
architecture.

Collaboration |
|
Ever since its establishment the MODULO magazine and its
publisher BE-MA have contributed to the development of this
cultural project. Since July 2003 MODULO has been official member of Laboratorio DAGAD.
In
addition, DAGAD started several media partnerships with important
European publishers in this sector.

Laboratorio DAGAD is
a non-profit organisation, registered into the Cultural section of the Milan's
"Registro Regionale delle
Organizzazioni di Volontariato", No. MI-292.
