Courses and meetings
about the use of English in the design field will still be
arranged like in previous years, in collaboration with the Foundation of The Architects'
Association of Milan.
These courses are specifically addressed to architects who want to
improve their English for professional purposes and to companies in the
construction sector. The courses will be based on classes, meetings and conferences.
Digital technical dictionary
Italian-English
In collaboration with the publisher Be-Ma a digital dictionary
Italian-English will be created for buildings and architectures. The
dictionary will be enriched with details (structure, plants, compatible
architecture) resulting from the work with ARUP Milano and with ANAB
during the latest workshops at the Foundation of the Architects' Association of Milan.

of Architecture”
From September to November

Laboratorio DAGAD, in
collaboration with the Foundation of Architects' Association of Milan,
arranged a
series of conferences in English.
The three meetings were:
“Plants and structures” (speaker Maurizio Teora OVE ARUP),
“Compatible design” (speaker Nicola Araldi of ARUP), “
Working Habitats, Valuable Spaces” (speaker Iain MacDonald DEGW)
.
Conferences in English: “Architectural lectures”
October 2004
Laboratorio DAGAD, in collaboration with
the Foundation of the Architects' Association of Milan, has organised
a series of conferences in English with the aim of telling some of the
most intensive and important moments of the union between Italian
and foreign architectural tradition.
The three meetings were:
Recent works of OVE Arup in Italy , the area of the old Porta
Vittoria station ,and the area Garibaldi-Repubblica.
Course: use of the English
language in the professional service

March 8th to July 26th
2004
Laboratorio DAGAD, in collaboration with
the "Foundation of Architects,
environmental planners and conservatives of Milan" organised English
classes specifically addressed to professionals. The course (60 hours) ,
was based on traditional English
lessons (using words and topics related to architecture and design), and
on a series of meetings with
professionals. The topics were: computation (RED), structures (OVE ARUP Milano),
eco-architecture (RPBW Paris), materials (MATERIAL CONNECTION), implants (MILANOPROGETTI),
offices (STEELCASE), architecture (STUDIO & PARTNERS),
textile in buildings (LIUNI), fireproof (BOVEMA).
